This one's on the right, and if that fact about US-spec 505s is correct, this is an imported one.
Edit: I just realized this is a turbo wagon, which, according to Wikipedia, is US exclusive.

I believe the turbo wagons all had them on the right and were only sold in the US. Going from memory though, not a francophile.
